A Message from the Teacher
I'm very excited about all the opportunities to work with you on skills involving reading and writing. I hope that this website helps enhance your learning and gives you a basic idea of what I'll be teaching. Being a new teacher at Clark-Pleasant Middle School, I'm still learning all the aspects-rules, procedures, locations-that align with this school's goal of providing you with a well-rounded education and ultimately making you a life-long learner. My goal as a teacher is to present you with concepts related to reading and writing in a fun, engaging way.
Reading is valuable and necessary skill in order to obtain information; for some, like myself, it's an enjoyable activity. By continuously using this skill and presenting you with reading material that is relevant to your age group and situations, I hope to make it a more enjoyable experience for you as well. Clark-Pleasant Middle School places strong emphasis on reading engaging, appropriate material that is intended to make you better students, and, hopefully, better individuals. For the remainder of the semester, we will be reading novels and short stories that I love, and I hope you will too.
The concepts taught in this class will always include writing. Writing is an essential form of communication, and I feel that learning to communicate effectively will help you engage better with others, providing you with more opportunities to learn and grow. Included within the lessons and activities we complete in class are the components of good writing. Elements of your writing such as grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, and organization are what we are going to strengthen so that you can communicate your thoughts and ideas effectively.
I believe that reading and writing are important skills that form a solid foundation for learning. I am passionate about both of these skills, and I hope to instill some of that passion in you as students. My expectations for you as readers and writers are high, but with hard work and a good attitude you can accomplish a lot in this class and have fun at the same time. This is a valuable opportunity for you to excel not only as students but as individuals able to successfully meet the future challenges that you'll face in school and other areas of your life. So, come to class everyday and be prepared to read, write, and learn.
All the Best Wishes for a Good Year,
